MAINE RESISTS
Maine Resists is a nonpartisan group of people from all over the state of Maine dedicated to helping others find ways to connect with their community and get involved with resistance efforts. We believe in the power of grassroots movements and collective action to bring about positive change. Join us in standing up for justice, equality, and democracy.
HOW IT STARTED
On February 5th, 2025, a group of strangers gathered together on the internet and collectively organized a statewide rally that would end up attracting a couple hundred people. They showed up at the Capitol with tables full of snacks, water, flags, hot beverages, hats & mittens, and hand warmers.
They spent the day amplifying the voices of pissed off Mainers, listened to stories of hardship and heroism, sang songs of resistance, and connected with one another through their shared dedication to protecting the rights of Americans.
And they just haven't stopped since.
